Santo Chiarelli has been providing audit, accounting, advisory, and tax services to various industries, including mortgage banking, private lending, debt collection services, asset-based lenders, real estate, manufacturing, and construction contractors throughout his over 30-year public accounting career. Santo’s commitment to continuous interaction with clients throughout the year provides a proactive approach to their financial and tax strategies.

Prior to Cathedral, Santo was a founding partner at Acquavella, Chiarelli, Shuster, LLP. His professional career began as an audit member of the NYC CPA firms Yohalem, Gillman & Company LLP (now part of Anchin Block & Anchin), and Berenson, Berenson, Adler LLP (now part of CohnReznick).

Santo has published articles in the Scotsman Guide, and been asked to speak on various accounting and tax topics at the Mortgage Bankers Association Financial Accounting and Management Conference, The Mortgage Collaborative, and the Loan Vision User Conference. He has served as an adjunct accounting professor at Wagner College in New York, and at Fairleigh Dickinson Graduate School in New Jersey.

Santo earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Bernard Baruch College, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states of New Jersey, New York, and California. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, New York Society of CPAs, New York State Society of Banking and Finance, New Jersey Society of CPAs, California Society of CPAs, Mortgage Bankers Association, Mortgage Bankers Association of New Jersey, Community Home Lenders Association, and The Mortgage Collaborative.

Outside of work, Santo enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exercising, golfing, and traveling.
